i have cool friends.

April 2, 2012

I really do have cool friends.

Two winters ago, I went on a mission trip to the Philippines with an organization called Mahal Foudation. We were serving orphans in the Philippines and had the opportunity to go Christmas shopping for one of the homes.

While I was there I got to meet so many cool people from our team; one of the girls on the team was a girl named Ellen. Now to me, she was just a normal girl~ yes, cool, but I had no idea she was kinda a big deal in the dance world. She’s so down to earth and fun to be around. She wasn’t drugged up or conceited. She was just herself.

Anyway, when I got back to Korea, I started looking up some of her choreography (because by the end of the trip, word had leaked that she was sort of famous in the dance world– she didn’t tell us of course– that was thanks to our friend Del– who also happens to be pretty cool^^).

Well, I like to keep up with her latest work and here’s one of her most recent dances she choreographed:

Ellen Kim : Set Fire to the Rain

Through Ellen, I discovered another amazing dancer, Mariel Martin. Here’s one of my favorite’s of her’s (and Keone, her husband):

Keone and Mariel : He Won’t Go

If you liked those… you should check out their other stuff… they have so much talent!

And, if you love helping those in need, you should consider giving to the Mahal Foundation!
